Today’s Throwback Thursday isn’t really dedicated to a specific game, we’re going to discuss what might be the first expansion pack type game most older gamers have ever played
When Sega released the game Sonic & Knuckles in 1994, they also released a “lock on” attachment that allowed gamers to go back and play Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 while using the newest character to the Sonic series, Knuckles. This little advancement in video game technology really can be viewed as the first expansion pack. Something about being able to play a previously loved Sonic game with the Sonic character who could also glide through the air. Another cool aspect of Knuckles that Sonic didn’t have was the ability to climb up walls. For all my old school gamers, just check the video below to relive a fun memory or hate yourself for never experiencing it.
