The following “Tell Em Why You Mad” will be done in story mode. It contains some strong language, viewer discretion is advised
So the year is 1999, I recently purchased Final Fantasy 8. I heard it could be a 30-50 hour game and I thought to myself:

I spent hours working my way through disc one. For those that remember, Final Fantasy 8 had a card game you could play, in game, against random people. Besides spending time going through the story itself, I probably spent hours playing that card game for the simple fact that it wasn’t a bad game at all. I probably spent at least 10 hours on disc one before finally seeing the screen that tells me to insert disc two.

A friend of mine came over that same day, and wanted to play his own file so he could experience the game from start to finish himself. No problem here, or so I think. The living room has two tvs, one for the cable and one for the video games (trust me, this idea was the truth back then) so I’m not even watching him play, I’m watching Dragon Ball Z or something like that. He saves and heads home for the day. I go to play my save file but the only file available is his, 45 minutes into the game.

I had two memory cards at the time so I simply thought he switched them. I turn off the system, switch the memory cards, turn the system back on and go to load my game data. There’s no game data on the other memory card at all.

I mean, what the hell?? You can’t see that it asks you to pick a save slot to save your game on to?? The damn thing asked you if you were sure you wanted to save over the existing file. You can’t say no? You can’t simply press the freaking down button on the directional pad ONE TIME and save on a blank slot?? You knew how long I played, I told you man….I know damn well I told you. You call yourself a friend?? Friends don’t save over my current save files.
Yes I’m still mad now that I thought about it all. Do you know how annoying it is to play through an entire first disc of a multi disc RPG a second time without ever playing any parts of disc two?? Do you? If you do then you feel my pain and I thank you for the sympathy I can feel you sending my way.
