By now, you should already know that Freddy Kruger is in the latest Mortal Kombat game, but why did it end there?

Since hearing about Freddy’s addition to the bloody fighting game, fans have been hoping, praying, and expecting to see another famous horror movie icon, Jason Voorhees. As of now, that just doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Mortal Kombat executive producer Ed Boon has stated that it’s because Freddy is more recognizable than Jason, so they added Freddy with no plans to add Jason. I call BS.

Make this happen people
Let’s be honest here, both of these characters had a move remake done recently. Prior to the remake, they were both in a movie called Freddy vs Jason. Outside of that, Mr. Voorhees has been in about 10 total movies to Freddy’s 6, so there’s now way you can honestly tell me the guy from less movies is more recognizable. Anybody that knows one, knows the other.
I think the real reason Jason wasn’t added is that Mr. Boon and company still have nightmares about him. Let’s be honest, he probably freaked them out as kids. Sure Freddy could scare you right before you go to sleep and have you hoping he doesn’t take you out in your dreams, but that’s it. While you’re awake you’re not worried about him because he only works in dreams. Jason on the other hand scared folks that went on camping trips. People that lived remotely close to a wooded area. He even had people scared to go to summer camp.

Fess up Mr. Boon, just thinking about adding Jason brings that old school fear back to your heart and you just aren’t man enough to do it. You’re denying fans due to childhood fears and it’s not right sir, it’s not right. Give us the machete wielding immortal demon so we can reenact the Freddy vs Jason fight however we see fit.
